Asam Pedas Kepala Salmon
Asam pedas and salmon are truly a match made in heaven! This keto-friendly recipe uses salmon fish head, which lends a delicious richness to this crowd-favourite lauk.

Asam Pedas Paste

40 g dried chili soaked in hot water and seeds removed

1 large red onion
-
5 cloves garlic
-
10 g ginger
-
5 g belacan toasted

Other ingredients
-
1 salmon fish head approx. 650g
-
1/2 cup Harvist Premium Extra Red Palm Fruit Oil
-
1 piece lemongrass
-
1 piece bunga kantan
-
7 pieces okra
-
4 sprigs daun kesum
-
1 tbsp tamarind paste
-
Himalayan salt to taste
DIRECTIONS

Blend asam pedas paste with water to form a thick paste.

In a pot, heat red palm oil.

Add asam pedas paste. Cook until dried and darkened.

Add lemongrass and bunga kantan. Cover with water.

Add fish. Let simmer until fish is cooked.

Add okra and daun kesum. Cook until slightly softened.
-
Add tamarind paste. Mix well.
-
Season with Himalayan salt.

Serve!
